Hello all!

Happy June. Summer is almost here.

I’ve uploaded my May 31st episode with guest Susie Arnold. Susie does some really interested work as a scientist at the Island Institute and explains what we know about ocean acidification, how it impacts Gulf of Maine species, how we might be able to help and what there is to learn.

For this week in science, I spend a lot of time talking about a new molluscan hero of mine — Jeanne Villepreux-Power, a researcher ahead of her time. You can learn more about her in this Science News article.

Ending the show, Molly Payne Wynne tells her story of her internship of murder in Yellowstone National Park. We are still looking for Story Collider pitches for our July 22nd show in Portland, Maine. If you have a pitch, send me an email. I’ll be talking about the show on MPBN’s Maine Calling on July 2nd.

Music breaks: The Gammy Bird by Christopher Young, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds by The Beatles, Chemistry by Semisonic.

Check it out on Sound Cloud here (https://soundcloud.com/strictlyfishwrap/sfw-3-ocean-acidification-shellfish-and-people-in-the-gulf-of-maine)

If you are interested in being on the show as a guest (you can call in, too!) or have suggestions, comments or questions, just email me at strictlyfishwrap [at] gmail [dot] com.

Next show is June 14th. Stay tuned.
