Welcome to mid-June, everyone.I’m delighted to say I’ve uploaded my June 14th interview with Marissa MacMahan. Marissa is doing her Ph.D. on the expansion of the black sea bass range into the Gulf of Maine. She is a student at Northeastern University in Massachusetts, but resides in Maine. The interview was previously recorded with Skype before going on air, so it’s a bit hard to hear at times.

For this week in science, check out the facebook page for a few of the links I posted. You’ll be surprised what scientists are learning about the human body these days.

I ended the show with a Story Collider story Marissa told about finding a cat in the intertidal. It is both hilarious and heartwarming.

By the by, we are still looking for Story Collider pitches for our July 22nd show in Portland, Maine. If you have a pitch, send me an email. I’ll be talking about the show on MPBN’s Maine Calling on July 2nd.

Music breaks: The Gammy Bird by Christopher Young, Under Pressure by Queen (feat. David Bowie), The Downeaster ‘Alexa’ by Billy Joel.

Check it out on Sound Cloud here (https://soundcloud.com/strictlyfishwrap/sfw-4-the-expansion-of-black-sea-bass-into-the-gulf-of-maine)

If you are interested in being on the show as a guest (you can call in, too!) or have suggestions, comments or questions, just email me at strictlyfishwrap [at] gmail [dot] com.

Next show is June 28th. Stay tuned.
