Strictlyfishwrap Science Radio Hour: Episode 6

Author: Skylar Bayer

Happy almost August… summer is just flying by here in Maine. The podcast from last week’s recording is posted!  The interview is with Lyn Tesseyman, the amazing weather woman at VSTV-88. My interview with Lyn is about how she got into weather, what goes into predicting the weather and presenting the weather (it means getting up real early or staying up real late — depends how you look at it!)

For this week in science, take a listen. If you have suggestions on this section please let me know. Lyn and I are scheming to do an episode talking more about Pluto and the beautiful photos they are receiving every day it seems.

I cut out The Story Collider track from this week — you can go to the podcast page to listen instead. I’m hoping that once the tracks from our July 22nd show (which was amazing!) I’ll be able to play those on the show.

Stay tuned for August 9th — and also stay tuned for a podcast coming up in the next few months where I am interviewed by one of my colleagues about my research. I know, crazy talk.

Also… if you are a Maine Calling fan, the Darling Marine Center will have a show on August 6th telling you all about the important research done at the DMC and the 50th anniversary on August 8th.

Stay classy, mid-coast Maine!

Music breaks: The Gammy Bird by Christopher Young, Like the weather by 10,000 Maniacs, No Rain by Blind Melon, Storm Weather by Billie Holiday.

Check it out on Sound Cloud here (

If you are interested in being on the show as a guest (you can call in, too!) or have suggestions, comments or questions, just email me at strictlyfishwrap [at] gmail [dot] com.

Next show should be August 9th unless canceled for unknown reasons it will be August 23rd.
